Description of VCCR drying technology

VCCR is an acronym for Vertical Cross-Counterflow Drying.
The round shaped dryer features several superposed, rotating decks which carry the product to be dried. Every deck consists of numerous perforated screen segments. Each of these separate segments is tipped automatically, one after the other, so that the product can slowly and gently slide down onto the subjacent deck.
This process is repeated on every deck until the product leaves the dryer at the bottom of the construction. This procedure produces minimal mechanical stress onto the product thus keeping the formation of dust at an absolute minimum.
Thermal stress is also kept at a minimum level. This is accomplished by having the drying medium with hot air in counter flow to the product, pass through the perforation of the revolving decks.
The cylindrical design contains multi-stacked decks which provides efficient space and energy saving. The number of decks is a function of the desired product flow-rate. In addition, an electronic control system allows automatic operation as well as the logging of the drying process.
The VCCR type holds clear advantages when compared to other drying systems. A round-shaped VCCR dryer generates a homogeneous air flow stream inside the dryer: yielding an ideal uniform treatment of the product.
